Resourced inspiration and information...

Been a few days since I've posted anything.  I'm still here, going strong!  What really helped was going grocery shopping again this weekend.  Having the fresh veggies and fruits in the house makes it easier for me to stick to my guns.

When I first started this journey I decided that educating myself and inspiring myself was going to be key to keeping my mind steeped in positivity.  I watched two wonderfully helpful documentaries recently, 'Forks Over Knives' and 'Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead.'  Both are on Netflix and speak to the changes that need to be made in our global diet.  It is amazing to watch and realize that there are people out there who actually believe that things CAN change.  It isn't always an easy change, I'm proof of that.  There are days where I just want to open a box of Mac & Cheese or go through the Wendy's drive thru and pig out but hearing the reality about what our bodies actually require takes me away from the temptation.  I'm actually thinking about doing a juice fast, but I'll have to save up for the juicer first.

I also have been recently gathering book references from a couple people.  My Uncle Don & my friends John and Allison Thiede let me borrow books they have been reading with some great recipes.  It is amazing how fun this whole thing has become - trying new recipes, watching inspiring and informational stories, and breathing life into my seditary exsistence.  I actually watched a couple of more documentaries that I also would recommend.  They aren't really "diet" related but mentally and socially facinating.

The first is 'The Secret', which can sometimes be mis-identified by religions as some sort of hocus pocus type crap-o-la!  I think you need to open your mind a little before watching something like this.  Take religion and any pre-conceived thoughts out of the equation before sitting down and seeing the value in this documentary.  The film is simply suggesting using a form of thinking and feeling that utilizes The Law of Attraction.  What is that you ask?  It is essentially visualizing goals you'd like to accomplish and the energy-fueled power of what that attracts in our lives.  No different than thinking positive!  It trains your mind to see the big picture and keep your eye on the prize.

The 2nd film was 'Craigslist Joe', about a man who strikes out on a month journey to see if he can connect with people (not just electronically) through Craigslist.  The catch is he has no money, shelter, ride, food, etc. and essentially the idea is he will have to live off the kindness of others.  Joe's journey is nothing short of moving and completely captivating.  I highly recommend it to re-instill your vision of humanity.

Well that is all I have for now.  Still looking for a job but my hopes are that I land one very soon.  Best to all and keep warm!
